CRYSTAL SAFFRON

I’ve been reaching for this every evening since it arrived—the saffron from Greece is sharp and almost leathery at first, then the Somali myrrh settles into a soft amber-like warmth that lasts for hours. It’s a proper extrait, so a couple of sprays on my scarf still smell strong the next morning.

The myrrh gives it this warm, almost smoky underlay that makes the saffron feel richer the longer it sits on skin. I put it on this morning and kept catching whiffs of it hours later, which never happens with my other perfumes.

The saffron hits immediately, sharp and almost metallic, but the myrrh in the base keeps it from turning harsh. I sprayed it on my scarf this morning and the scent is still clinging to the fabric hours later, which I didn't expect from an extrait this light.
